Fuelling Growth For LongStoryShort

When we started working with LongStoryShort, we realised quickly that the profile of person they required was unique. They had moved from a strategy of hiring people for individual roles (e.g. video production for one person, social media for another) to a hybrid role of social media experts who could produce and edit video for clients.

With our knowledge of working agency-side ourselves, we quickly understood the type of personality and the behaviours that LongStoryShort were looking for, and we gained a quick understanding of the current team and their values.

We set out to find people who:

  • Had demonstrable experience of working with video (e.g. mentioning specific tools)
  • Had demonstrable experience of running social media accounts either agency or brand-side
  • Had displayed creative flair but could also demonstrate rigour and accountability

As part of our process, we held 20 to 30-minute screening interviews with every candidate on our long-list before providing shortlists to our client, with a 90% presentation-to-interview ratio across several roles.

The agency continues to grow today with many of the people that we have helped bring on board, and each of them is going from strength to strength.
