The Marketing JobSeeker Survey - Q4-24 Report

We surveyed nearly 200 marketers on how they felt about their current job search, and you can download the results - and our interpretation of those results - right here.

The outlook? Largely pessimistic. We can't hide from the fact that the marketing jobs market is difficult right now, and the feedback we received from the market confirms this:

  • Nearly 80% of candidates have been ghosted
  • Over 1 in 3 have been looking for more than 6 months
  • 1 in 4 refuse to apply for roles that have more than 100 applications on LinkedIn
  • Only 15% say they are optimistic about the jobs market right now

We also reached out to Talent Acquisition Managers to get their advice. We found that they are often overwhelmed with the sheer volume of applications, often from candidates who are both unsuitable to the role and from overseas, and with their teams often cut to the bone, they are feeling the strain.

We wanted our report to be of use to jobseekers, however - and not just a reflection of how critical the UK market is right now. So, with the help of the Talent Acquisition managers, we've looked at some of the underlying causes of what is making recruitment such a painful process right now, and have offered some potential solutions.

We won't repair the market overnight, but we do hope that together, we can overcome some of the challenges laid down by the current market, and make a difference.
